How Do You Install Expandable Braided Cable Sleeving?. For a tight fit choose a cable sleeving diameter that is a smaller size than your application. For a more flexible fit select a cable sleeve diameter that is the same size or slightly larger than your application, this will ensure that the application is able to smoothly and easily move such as a bundle of wires. Once the correct cable sleeving size is selected you will need to cut the sleeve to the correct length. If the sleeve is not cut correctly it can fray. To prevent fraying use a hot cutting tool such as a hot knife or a soldering iron with a sharp tip. Slice the braid using even pressure to leave an evenly sealed edge on the material.
